Schweinsteiger inks Bayern extension

12/15/2008 - Munich, Germany (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Bayern Munich have confirmed that Bastian Schweinsteiger has finally put pen to paper on a new long-term deal.

The 24-year-old Germany international had been linked with moves to Juventus and Real Madrid next summer when his previous Bayern contract was set to expire.

However, Schweinsteiger has inked a contract extension that will keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2012.

"We're delighted we've reached a positive conclusion with Bastian, another very important personality at the club," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge added when the new deal had been confirmed.
